Bart Aernouts is a man on the move in long distance triathlon. Bart can already look back on an accomplished career in duathlon. It took him five years to go from a Belgian title in the U23 (2005) to becoming world champion short distance in 2010.
As a member of the 2011-2013 Uplace Pro Triathlon Team, Bart made his mark in long distance triathlon with 70.3 wins in Antwerp, Syracuse, Pocono Mountains, South Africa and St. Polten. With an impressive second place in the 2013 Ironman Nice and an 8th place in the 2013 Ironman Hawaii, Bart has his sights set on a place among the sport's best in the full distance. June 29, 2014 marked an important milestone for Bart. That day he won the Ironman France, his first full distance title. On the 10th of August, he won his first European Championship 70.3 in Wiesbaden. With a 9th place in WC Ironman Hawaii, a 8th place in WC Ironman 70.3 Mont Tremblant and a 6th place in the WC XTerra in Maui, Bart Aernouts finished 3 world championships in the top 10 in 2014. A fastest run split of the day at the WC Ironman 70.3 Zell am See in 2015 brought Bart nearly on podium. Besides this 4th place finish at the WC Ironman 70.3 Bart also recorded wins in Challenge Poznan, Ironman 70.3 Bahrain and multiple podium spots throughout 2015. Bart is undisputable one of the most consistent triathletes of the world.
Bart will join us on Sunday at WILL.
